CWU's Humanitarian Aid Convoys To Deliver Aid To Ukraine Refugees

War IS a Health & Safety issue - UK Government Shameful Response To Ukrainian Refugees

Unionsafety has always been proud of the work done by the CWU and it's charity providing convoys of aid to war-torn and poverty stricken countries in Europe; the CWU Humanitarian Aid!

With the inhumane acts of Russian government and troops invading Ukraine, tens of thousands of civilians' lives are at risk as are the 1.5 million (as of 7th March) refugees escaping war crimes being committed against women and children.

Whilst the British Government refuses to follow Moldova, Poland, Germany, Rumania, and Slovakia's act of humanity in providing Ukraine refugees immediate and unfettered by bureaucracy, access to their countries; the UK government shamefully has taken in only 50 Ukrainian people via their visa application based 'Family Scheme'.

Meanwhile the poorest country in Europe has taken and has done nothing to help those Ukrainians stranded in the UK to remain here!over 100,000 people escaping Ukraine!

Currently the UK Government has done nothing to help those Ukrainians stranded in this country to remain here.

"Guidance on how to apply to the scheme from inside the UK will be available soon" says the Government website!

The only good thing they have done is to waive the normal £1000 to £3000 visa payment charge!

So it is down to the Trade Unions in the UK, and charities too; to help those who have had to flee from Ukraine to save their lives.

CWU Humanitarian Aid charity is one of the main charities that has worked in Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania via their convoys delivering aid to refugees and the poorer areas of those countries.

The CWUHA explains the aim of its Ukraine Refugee Crisis Appeal:

"CWUHA has previously worked in and run missions to the Ukraine to help disadvantaged children and their families. The charity sends our love and solidarity to our friends and the people of the Ukraine. To help the humanitarian effort CWUHA will be delivering aid direct to refugees in Poland and we are working with our partners Mad-Aid to help refugees in Moldova.

We are looking to one of our employers/partners to supply vehicles which will enable us to transport aid direct to the aid stations. Failing this we will be looking to work with organisations in the various countries to ensure our aid reaches the refugees.

We will only be delivering items that are needed and of good quality.

If you can help, please get in touch. Or you can make a donation, knowing that every penny will be spent on purchasing aid. Thank you."

You can click on the image above to go direct to the CWUHA Just Giving page to give as much as you can afford to. You can also 'gift aid' your donation which adds further funds to the amount you give.

In the meantime, if you cannot give money, you may be able to donate something from the list of goods shown below:
